Art for B273
100-Day Art Upskilling Challenge
Days 61–100 lead participants gently into creative confidence,
expression, storytelling, and mindful sharing — a natural culmination
where art becomes both practice and meditation.
This phase helps seniors (and all learners) feel expressive, proud, and
deeply connected through art.
Theme: Expression, Reflection & Sharing
From creating what we see — to expressing who we are.
Each session continues to last about 30–45 minutes, starting with a
short mindful pause and ending with gentle reflection or sharing.
Day 61 – Expressive Landscapes
Paint or draw a landscape freely from memory or imagination.
Focus on flow and feeling more than detail.
Reflection: Which part of your landscape carries emotion?
Day 62 – Sky and Ground
Divide the paper in two — sky and earth.
Explore how colour and tone create contrast or harmony.
Reflection: Where does your sky meet your earth within?
Day 63 – Rhythm of Lines
Use repeating lines, arcs, or curves to create visual rhythm.
Let your hand move like breathing.
Reflection: How do rhythm and calm connect?
Day 64 – Harmony in Colours
Choose 2–3 harmonious colours and let them blend naturally.
Reflection: What happens when colours “listen” to one another?
Day 65 – Poetic Abstraction
Paint or draw based on a single word (e.g., Calm, Joy, Wind).
Reflection: How can a word become a picture?
Day 66 – Sound to Form
Play soft music and let your hand respond to the rhythm.
Reflection: How does sound shape movement and colour?
Day 67 – Story of a Shape
Choose a shape (circle, spiral, path).
Repeat or vary it to tell a silent story.
Reflection: What story does repetition tell?
Day 68 – Light in Darkness
Paint or draw a scene with mostly dark tones and a small light area.
Reflection: How does light emerge from shadow — in art and life?
Day 69 – Calm through Simplicity
Create an image using minimal lines and colours.
Reflection: What happens when you remove excess?
Day 70 – Review & Reflection
Display your works from Days 61–69.
Write short notes on what you’ve learned about expression.
Prompt: How has your art become more personal?
Day 71 – Portrait of a Memory
Recall a meaningful person or moment.
Express it abstractly through form and colour.
Reflection: How does memory feel in colour, not detail?
Day 72 – The Hand that Draws
Draw your hand slowly and mindfully.
Reflection: What stories do your hands tell?
Day 73 – Faces and Feelings
Sketch faces showing simple emotions.
Keep lines loose and expressive.
Reflection: How do small changes reveal emotion?
Day 74 – The Mirror Self
Look in a mirror.
Make a simple portrait — not of accuracy, but essence.
Reflection: What do you see beyond your appearance?
Day 75 – Review: The Human Element
Lay out your sketches from Days 71–74.
Reflection: What connects all human expressions?
Day 76 – Hands of Creation

Day 77 – Story in Composition
Create a simple composition that tells a feeling or scene.

Day 79 – The Circle of Life
Use circular forms to express cycles — growth, change, or renewal.

Day 80 – Reflection & Pause
Review Days 61–79.
Choose one work to refine or expand upon.
Reflection: What theme calls you to continue?
Day 81 – Visual Meditation

Reflection: What arises from stillness?
Day 82 – Inspired by Poetry
Read a short poem; create an artwork inspired by its feeling.

Day 83 – Nature Memory
Paint or draw a place from nature that brings peace.
Reflection: What part of nature lives in your memory?
Day 84 – Texture of Emotion
Express an emotion (serenity, excitement, sorrow) using textures only.
Reflection: How can texture speak?
Day 85 – Visual Haiku
Make a small, minimal artwork — three strokes, three colours, three
moments.
Reflection: What truth fits in simplicity?
Day 86 – The Path Within
Draw a symbolic path — winding, straight, or circular.
Reflection: Where are you walking now, in life or art?
Day 87 – Symbols of Peace
Create a visual symbol that represents peace or kindness.

differently?
Day 93 – Refined Composition
Choose your best variation and refine it.

Day 94 – Adding Layers
Add colour, tone, or texture thoughtfully to enhance meaning.
Reflection: What does each new layer add emotionally?
Day 95 – The Power of Simplification
Remove or soften elements that distract.
Reflection: What becomes stronger when you simplify?
Day 96 – Final Touches
Focus on balance, clarity, and calm energy.
Reflection: How do you know when a work is finished?
Day 97 – Title and Signature
Title your work and sign it — a gesture of completion.
Reflection: What title captures your feeling best?
Day 98 – Prepare for Sharing
Mount, photograph, or display your work beautifully.
Reflection: How does sharing change your relationship with art?
Day 99 – The Exhibition of Heart
Gather all artworks from the 100 days.
Arrange them by feeling or colour, not date.
Reflection: What story do they tell together?
Day 100 – Celebration & Gratitude
Spend time in quiet appreciation of your journey.
Write a note or poem beginning with “Through art, I have learned…”
Share tea and joy with fellow participants.
Closing Reflection:
“Art is the mirror of our mindfulness —
each stroke a trace of presence,
each colour a breath of gratitude.”
