WEEK 1 — Awakening the Hands

Theme: Discovering simple marks
Activity: Lines, dots, circles, waves, textures
Materials: Colour pencils / oil pastels
Purpose:

Wakes up the hands gently

Builds confidence (“I can do this!”)
•
Allows everyone to start without fear
Reflection:
“What movement did your hand enjoy the most today?”
WEEK 2 — Colours and Feelings
第2周:颜色与心情
Theme: Choosing colours that reflect the heart
Activity: One sheet divided into sections; each section filled with a
colour showing a feeling (calm, warm, bright, soft…)
Materials: Pastels or watercolour
Purpose:
•
Encourages gentle emotional expression
•
Helps seniors reconnect with inner feelings
Reflection:
“How did the colour you chose make you feel?”
WEEK 3 — Patterns of Life
第3周:生活的图案
Theme: Exploring repeated patterns
Activity: Create a page of patterns: spirals, stripes, cross-hatch, waves,
dots
Materials: Markers or crayons
Purpose:

Builds rhythm and coordination
•
Creates calm through repetition
Reflection:
“What pattern felt natural to your hand?”
WEEK 4 — Memory Colours

Theme: A colour inspired by a memory
Activity: Pick one memory from life (childhood, nature, a place). Paint
colours and shapes that express the memory without needing to
“draw” it.
Materials: Watercolour / pastels
Purpose:

Healthy memory recall
•
Warm sharing opportunity
•
Non-verbal storytelling
Reflection:
“What memory came up for you today?”
WEEK 5 — Touch & Texture

Theme: Feeling the surface
Activity: Use tools like combs, sponges, chopsticks, fingers to create
textures
Materials: Acrylic paint (thin), paper, simple tools
Purpose:

Sensory engagement (touch and sight)
•
Fun experimentation
Reflection:
“What texture surprised you the most?”
WEEK 6 — Nature Inspired Painting

Theme: Bring nature into the heart
Activity: Observe a leaf, flower, stone, or fruit. Paint the feeling of it,
not realistically.
Materials: Watercolour / mixed media
Purpose:

Builds attention and gentle awareness

Connects with the natural world

“How did your object make you feel when you looked closely?”
WEEK 7 — My Inner Garden
第7周:心中的小花园
Theme: Combining colours, textures, lines
Activity: Create an abstract “garden” using all techniques learned:
patterns, marks, colours, textures
Materials: Any medium they enjoy
Purpose:

Integrates skills
•
Builds confidence through composition
•
Encourages personal freedom and joy
Reflection:
“What part of your painting feels most alive?”
WEEK 8 — Celebration Piece
第8周:庆祝创作
Theme: Expressing your own story
Activity: A final artwork using favourite colours and marks. Encourage
individual style.
Materials: Artist’s choice
Purpose:

Sense of achievement
•
Reinforces identity and meaning
•
A gentle, meditative wrap-up
