WEEK 1 — Listening to the Line

Theme: Lines as emotion and energy
Activity:

Draw slow lines, fast lines, heavy lines, light lines
•
Let the line change with breath and hand pressure
•
One continuous line drawing without lifting the hand
Materials: Pencil, charcoal, oil pastel
Purpose:

Deepens hand–mind connection
•
Builds sensitivity to movement and rhythm
•
Introduces intentional mark-making
Reflection:
“Which line felt most like you today?”
WEEK 2 — Colour Relationships

Theme: How colours speak to each other
Activity:
•
Choose 2–3 colours only
•
Explore harmony (soft) or contrast (bold)
•
Place colours side by side and layered
Materials: Watercolour or soft pastels
Purpose:
•
Develops colour awareness beyond emotion
•
Introduces simple composition thinking
•
Encourages choice and restraint
Reflection:
“What happened when these colours met?”
WEEK 3 — Rhythm & Balance

Theme: Visual rhythm in a painting
Activity:

Repeat shapes or marks across the page
•
Explore spacing: crowded vs open
•
Pause and observe before continuing
Materials: Markers, crayons, brush pens
Purpose:

Enhances visual coordination

Cultivates patience and observation
•
Builds calm through structured repetition

“Where does your eye like to rest?”
WEEK 4 — Memory, Revisited
第4周:再次走进记忆
Theme: Deepening one memory through layers
Activity:
•
Start with a colour wash (background memory)
•
Add lines, textures, shapes on top
•
No realism required—just feeling and layers
Materials: Watercolour + oil pastel / mixed media
Purpose:
•
Encourages emotional depth
•
Introduces layering technique
•
Strengthens storytelling without words
Reflection:
“Did the memory change as you painted?”
WEEK 5 — Gesture & Freedom
第5周:动作与自由
Theme: Painting with the whole arm
Activity:
•
Stand if comfortable
•
Use larger paper
•
Paint with sweeping gestures, dots, splashes, pauses
Materials: Acrylic or ink, large brushes
Purpose:
•
Releases physical tension
•
Builds expressive confidence
•
Encourages joy and playfulness

“How did your body feel while painting?”
WEEK 6 — Space & Stillness

Theme: The beauty of empty space
Activity:

Paint only part of the paper
•
Leave areas untouched intentionally
•
Notice silence and breathing spaces
Materials: Ink, watercolour, brush
Purpose:
•
Introduces negative space
•
Cultivates mindfulness and restraint
•
Deepens aesthetic awareness

“How does the empty space speak to you?”
WEEK 7 — Personal Theme Painting

Activity:

Choose a theme: peace, strength, journey, gratitude, joy
•
Use preferred colours and techniques

Purpose:

•
Builds quiet pride and autonomy

WEEK 8 — Sharing & Appreciation

Theme: Witnessing each other’s journey

Final piece or refinement
•
Group sharing (optional, no pressure)
•
Gentle closing ritual (music, breathing, gratitude)

Purpose:
